The 7th Annual Meeting of Working Group on Meteorology
The 7th Annual Meeting of Working Group on Meteorology (WGM) was hosted by Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) at the headquarters of JMA in Tokyo, Japan from 30 to 31 October 2024. 11 Members from China; Hong Kong, China; Japan; Lao PDR; Macao, China; Malaysia; Philippines; Republic of Korea; Thailand; USA; Viet Nam; Typhoon Committee Secretariat (TCS) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) participated in the Meeting.
The main purpose of the Meeting was to review the progress of the annual priority plans of WGM in 2024, and to discuss the implementation plans in 2025. In addition, 5 experts from China; Hong Kong, China and Japan gave technical presentations on tropical cyclones including satellite observations, seasonal and AI forecasts, Dvorak analysis, and collaboration between WGM and WGH.
